History of the Firm
On 4th March 1982 the firm was founded from premises located at Level 5, 84 Pitt Street, Sydney.
Richard Bobb then as a young sole practitioner with huge aspirations, unrelenting drive and ambition, took the first steps to establish a full-time chartered accounting practice. Naturally he assumed the risks usually associated with a new enterprise and from that origin, the firm has grown and continues to grow today.
All partners, other than the founder, were invited to become partners after initially joining the firm as employees. Katherine Chow has spent over 30 years with the practice and over 25 years as a partner. Keo Chui and David Woo joined the firm in 1988 and 1991 respectively and were admitted as partners shortly afterwards.
As of 1 July 2005, Richard Bobb retired as a partner of Richard A. Bobb Chartered Accountants.
The firm’s professional expertise has widened, through the development of a professional skill base outside traditional chartered accountancy. For example:
1. Individual US Federal and State income tax return preparation,
2. Foreign and domestic tax dispute resolution, and
3. Australian migration agency services
are some of the non-traditional areas of practice that the firm has expanded into since 1982.
The firm currently practices as a firm of chartered accountants of three (3) partners and a team of professional and support staff. The firm provides various areas of professional expertise, from commercial office premises at:
Level 6
283 George Street
SYDNEY NSW 2000
and enjoys the support and patronage of a loyal and well-established clientele.
